Sitter på tåget tillbaks till stockholm och undrar varför vi inte stannade längre, vilken genuint trevlig stad och vilket fantastiskt välkomnande………………Det är alltid nervöst att göra live framtädanden, i tv kan de alltid klippa bort saker det funkar inte i verkligheten så vi får köra på känn (försöker koncentrera mig men simon viskar hela tiden i örat vad jag ska skriva…………..j-vligt irriterande)
Vi kom till Gävle central lite tidigt och sprang på ett gäng lätt överförfriskade ålandsresenärer i baren där vi tog en välförtjänad öl efter 2 framträdanden. Jag hade inte den minsta aning om att vi var så populära bland de som hänger på tågstationens pub………….. När har de tid att titta på tv? Kul människor och vi skulle verkligen vilja träffa dem under andra omständigheter. Bilder kommer imorgon………….

Friday evening and T and I just got back from an opening. Very lovely.
Someone just pointed out that we are both not writing enough here. I truly believe we are doing our best. Our ambition is to share things with you, and I was a little sad to read that someone thought we we’re not updating enough. But the fact of the matter is, since we started, we have been updating regelbundet. Eller?
T and I are having cocktails with some dear friends. Tomorrow we are off to Gävle and a mässa to talk about inredning. So - if you live in Gävle, or around, (Gevalia country - which I love) please come by and see us.

Tomas thinks all I do is fluff cushions as I am sure does everyone else.
However here is proof that I am at the cutting edge of tough interior design. I know that a lot of people believe interior design is just about swooshing around with fabrics but these pictures, I think you will agree, tell a different story!
Please however, do not look at that ghastly green thing I am wearing, who in god’s name came up with that colour. I do mind you think co-ordinating the red glasses with the plastic hat was rather a stroke of genius.

There were 3 things my father told me about life;

2) Never have sex on a bus!!!???
3 Never let your hair cover the top of your ears.
All of this advice I have taken on board and it has served me well. That is why I am off to have my frippa dealt with. Have to look presentable for meeting and greeting in Gävle tomorrow. Having looked at myself in the mirror I think I have 2 options. Both will give that attractive man about town, sophisticated, well groomed look I am after.
Just for your knowledge Tomas, the english have no problem with nudity………so long as its done at home, tastefully, in private and quickly!
Vad Simon glömde nämna när han så sarkastiskt sade att jag skulle på massage och han var kvar och torkade spyor efter hundarna var att mina skuldror och nacke totalt packat ihop…………….. (han är bara avis för att han är engelsman och inte skulle våga ta av sig kläderna för att få massage). När vi gör tv rör vi på oss ganska mycket men nu är vi tillbaks på vårt vanliga jobb och tyvärr sitter jag en hel del så då packar nacken ihop. Vi jobbar för det mesta 10-12 timmar om dagen 6 dagar i veckan och har gjort det nu i 15 år, det är inga problem eftersom vi har så fantastiskt roliga jobb men ibland fattar liksom inte kroppen hur roliga våra jobb är. Att jag dessutom inte fattat att jag är medelålders och dessutom kör på i snabbare takt än någonsin gör väl kanske saken inte bättre. Jag har däremot börjat fatta att jag måste ta lite bättre hand om kroppen, denna maskin ska ju trots allt hänga med ett tag till. Går på gym……………ja i alla fall ibland - för att köpa årskortet och sedan en gång till för att förnya det. Därför ska jag nu prova massage 1 gång i veckan, jag ser det liksom som samma grej som när vi lämnar vår gamla BMW på service för att hoppas att den ska hålla ett tag till.
Kort om furugolv: snabbaste och enklaste sättet att bli av med furu är att måla golven, på vårt f d lantställe målade vi golven svart och vitrutiga - skitsnyggt. Gammal bred kärnfuru kan man såklart luta så att det där gula fula försvinner.
Många frågar om hur man blir inredare……. kanske vi ska göra ett tv program där vi låter inredande amatörer tävla och vinnaren får en chans att praktisera med oss eller någon annan inredare ????
Sen vet jag inte om ni märkt att Gordon Ramsay leder över oss i “vem är din favorit på TV3″ skärpning…….rösta mer på oss.
Litet budska till alla som har jobb och inte är direkt påverkade av finanskrisen…..köp något onödigt idag, tänk om alla köpte en extra semla i veckan eller ett dyrare shampoo e t c vad det skulle göra för ekonomin.4 miljoner x 20 kr (semla) = 80 miljoner x 52 veckor = drygt 4 miljarder kronor, motsvarar väl sådär 8000 jobb eller nåt………………

Thanks for the message. Rory is indeed a very cool guy but sadly he also has a very nice girlfriend. I will certainly pass on your greetings, he will I am sure be very flattered.
Some people have asked where the name London W8 came from, it is a post code in London, for Kensington actually. When we opened the shop all the names relating to interiors seem to have been taken so this seemed like a good idea.
Glad you like the boys Linna, both of them however have not been feeling well today, there are lots of winter germs going around but rice and chicken tonight and I am sure they will be better in the morning.
Happy people liked the ghastly homes from this mornings blogg, I think it would be fun to each day show some of the hideous things people collect and do with their interiors. Tomorrow feels like it will be “things not to have on your fönsterbänk”.
T is off having a massage whilst I am left in the the office clearing up dog vomit……. whilst designing peoples curtains. It is NOT a glamorous life.

I thought it might be interesting to see some examples of truly dreadful taste. I have no idea what these people were thinking if anything at all. All I will say is do not attempt this without supervision
This is a perfect example of how not to do it. Love the wet bar though.
This is bizarre, they have used a gun as a gardien stång, in a childs bedroom. This is about as far from interior design as it gets.
Do not try this at home, unless you feel very comfortable with everyone laughing at you.

Utter madness, these people should be arrested, look at the paper border with wine bottles, what in gods name were they thinking.
I guess if you are going to do it then you need to go the whole way however there is somehting faintly swedish about the whole concept, paint it white and then add a färgklick.

We did a yellow scheme for one of our shows and if the end result looked like this I am sorry Gun and Niklas.
If you are going to decorate your bedrooms with swords and knives perhaps a green chair should not be part of the design.
Very little to say about this that can be put on a blog…the plastic wisteria just adds that finishing touch. Mind you a molotov cocktail thrown through the front door would have the same effect
Eftersom vi genom vårt jobb reser massor, både för att jobba men mycket för att få inspiration och “injektioner” av annat än svenskt så tänkte vi så klart dela med oss lite av våra äventyr. New York är nog vår största källa till inspiration, måste nästan dit 2 gånger om året för att hänga med allt som händer designmässigt, hinner dessvärre inte dit i vår. Vi hänger mycket i hotellbarer för hotell är ofta där ett lands bästa designers får gå lös och visa vad de går för - man får mycket inspiration där, även om man inte har råd att bo på de bästa hotellen så kan man väl alltid kosta på sig en cocktail eller en kaffe.
Vi sticker till Oporto i Portugal på måndag, vi har blivit inbjudna till en mässa där och vi älskade Lissabon så vi kunde inte säga nej, trots att vi egentligen inte har tid. Kommer att hålla er underättade så klart. Nästa lilla trip är en resa med vår fantastiska personal upp till Åre i mars, jag ska äntligen få se restaurang bygget där uppe som Simon designat och i Påsk bär det av till vår lilla favoritö i karibien……… Första gången vi åker i högsäsång så det ska bli intressant att se denna lilla sömniga ö vakna till liv, de håller en easter regatta, vi åker aldrig på semester under värsta högsäsongen och jag inser nu hur lyckligt lottade vi varit i alla år när det gälller biljettpriser……..Fy vad de tar betalt på loven och alla med barn som måste åka på loven får all min sympati, fullt är det också, lågkonjukturen verkar ha missat påsken i alla fall.

Hello Mother Maj-Liss, happy to hear you are reading the blog. Have you emptied the garage or have you carried it all back inside?. Last time I saw you in the kitchen when I came back to collect my jumper that looked like what you were doing! There was no chance though that you carried back your pig, it was well and truly smoked. However, if you are missing him I have a growing mountain of pigs here. One even turned up at home on new year’s eve on the steps, it gave me a real fright.
One of the questions we get asked a lot is how to become an interior designer. There are no real simple ways in. Obviously if you have an education in the field that helps. there are some great schools in London and you can find their address in the back of the major english design magazines.
However, remember, it is not an easy profession and there is very much competition. The more you know about lighting, plumbing, building, site management etc will make you a better designer. believe me, I spend 20% of my time designing and 80% talking to plumbers and electritians who do not want to do what I am asking them, dosa everywhere is a good example as are pipes on the outside of walls.
Another suggestion is to travel, get inspriation, see how the rest of the world designs, read books, buy foreign design magazines…all if this will make you a more interesting and creative designer in the long run.

Percy has now returned from dagis exhausted and muddy. He apparently took a
shine to Morris!!! T always tells everyone the only thing I am good for is lull-lull and toffs
and cushions and this has become a popular belief. I must admit all
technology is not that interesting and all things that require a tumstock
leave me in the dark. It is not that I cannot do it, it is that I do not
want to do it.
All these technical aspects are only the base of true design, it is in fact
the pictures, cushion, accessories, carpets, mink pläds that make a scheme.
All of this is of course fascinating which is why on the way to collect
Percy I slipped into my favourite fabric supplier and there were the most
divine toffs I have ever seen. All handmade, silk, available in custom
colours and just utterly a “must have”. Forget this year’s handbag!
The point of toffs is you can use a very inexpensive linen from Sweden’s
favourite furniture supermarket and add life and beauty with them. Sometimes
it is not about spending a handfull of lax, it is about spending money in a
clever way to achieve maximum krut.
It is a crazy idea so try it…..you might be surprised.
