Show 7

Just finished filming show 7 which feels good. Has been a long week but Johnny, Crill.e and the boys have done a great job.

Pooter has been at dagis today and they have just cut all the grass. This is a hopeless photo but perhaps you can see his green boots, he looks quite absurd………..men söt.

From what I hear from the dagid fröken Pooter and her JR have been rather naughty today and fighting with a new dog. I am sure everything will settle down shortly, at least I hope so.

the family we have been filming with all day gave us a large piece of deer as a gift. He is a hunter and the design scheme was to do with that. Extremely  kind as I love deer. feels like a long weekend in the kitchen…….under T’s supervision as he does not trust me.

That is all from here, I am off to bed now as I have had more than enough today.

Not too bad

Thanks you for all the kind comments about the new show. Seems to have well received and the viewing figures were pretty good. I always hate the first show of a new season as you always think you have forgotten how to design.

Seems that many of you missed Dick but saadly he had other commitments he could not break. It was nice though to be working with Jonny and Crille again, feels like we have done millions of shows together.

Just finished an article for a dog magazine on the subject of how to name pets. I am surprised they asked me as I have a dog called Pooter.

That is it for today, I must confess I am absolutely knackered and am going to bed early.

Swedens Ugliest

First show tonight of the new programme. Have invited 20 people over for dinner to watch this with T & I.

We are jolly nervous and I am having a small whiskey.

Hope you like the result of all this hard work…….remember I live in sweden and love the place so anything I might say is intended only to be ironic.

Have a good evening.

family

Just meet my aunt for lunch who is here in town on a cruise.

Have not seen her for 19 years so all a little wierd. However she tells me I look like my father and I am not sure if that is a comliment.

Off for champagne now with TS as it is her birthday, the gift is causing me trouble as I do not want to bring something from the shop. Really need to think quite hard about this.

I have no idea what she got for her birthday but it seems to be working.

Boys have had a jolly day on Gärdet which means I can have a siesta this afternoon.

Have 15 people coming over for lasagne tomorrow to watch the premiere of the new show. Actually rather nervous as we are up against Mat Tina.

Naturally with these being TV people things tend to get a little wild even on a monday night.

Perhaps lasagne is not the best idea, the curtains are after all white.

The ballet

What a glorious evening yesterday. Splendid weather, a real warm höst evening and the most glorious dancing.

Went with LT who was a prima ballerina with the Australian Ballet and ML who was the Venezuelan Cultural Attache. have a drink in the dancers bar afterwards which is like a small hidden treasure in Operan just dripping with gold leaf. Quite magical. You wander through all the back corridors of the building ( plast golv matta och lysrör) and through a door and there it is.

The violin soloist for one of the pieces was a norwegian called Vilde Frand who we also met (not a troll in sight thank goodness)

Then off to Sturekompaniet for dinner which was great fun as well.

That is it for today, T has still not blogged for months……….can someone please remind him is is Simon & Tomas!!!!

Friday

My god what a week and now it is finally at and end if you do not count saturday when we work.

Starting to plan now for Buenos Aires and there seem to be the most amazing appartments to rent for no money. We were thinking of staying at the new Starck hotel but perhaps not. Last time we rented an appartment was in Sydney and we had a great fun.

We have got 3 new jobs today, one is at Bo-X at Kungenskurva  for a meet and greet and offering inspiration ideas for people, another is a foreläsning in Göteborg and another is at a Mässan in the fall.

All very exciting as it is always fun to meet the people who actually watch our show.

That is it for now, off to the ballet.

Have a good weekend.

This week

My god, this week has been madness, particularly today.

It started with a client meeting at 0800, then a meeting with a house manufacturer at 1000, then an interview with P3, then a meeting with a website called snow fish, then a video with the bristish council at 1500 then a final meeting with someone who wants us to appear at an event at 1600.

I do not mind saying I am a little förvirad.

Yesterday was Göteborg, rather lovely actually as I flew down with Emma Sjöberg who was looking particularly lovely. She really proves that beauty has nothing to do with age. Also met our sound man and friend Ola who was on the same flight, going down to film Granfäjden, how very knäpp people are. I really do admire their energy but not their common sense.

Paris was fun but huge amounts of work, met Jim Grundström whilst there, always a pleasure as he is an original. Will be interesting to see what has been ordered, should not be too much of a surprise as I was sober. Was invited this year as the organisers wanted the opinion of someone who had some knowledge of the swedish interior design market.  They obviously confused me with someone else.

Down in Göteborg yesterday making a big presentation for Coffee by George which we have designed and are now up grading to the new concept. Was actually rather wonderful as the sun was shining. First time I have ever seen it happen there.

T was in London all yesterday looking for new products for our olive oil shop. As with the design shop we always need to keep re-inventing ourselves and so have to be on the ball. Needless to say T has not shown me what he has found other than the cheese he has bought from Harrods to make me feel better for buying himself 2 pairs of shoes….one of them very pointy.

There are 2 things I am certain about with T, he will either not be able to walk up stairs as his shoes are too long or he will poke out his eye putting them on…..he is like Pooter…..rather a clutz.

That is it from here MEN…………..T and I have been thinking that there are many people who have interior design problems and question  and who need good sound advice and that we might try and help with some tips. Obviously we will not be able to help everyone but perhaps we could take 2 or 3 of the worst problems every week and try and show people how things can be solved. Obviously we will try and give some positive suggestions but we will also need to have a bit of a laugh at some of the things people have done and how their homes look. As I am sure you will understand everything will be done in the best possible taste and we will not be too critical……..in your dreams. Obviously you will be able to send in pictures and if your home is gorgeous and your friends home dreadful you can send their pictures and not your own. However…….maybe someone else will send images of your home without you knowing.

The mother of this guy had obviously had enough as he is a gris.

Please let us know what you think and if it would be A) helpful B) fun or C)  Pure revenge.

Paris

Back from the trade show in Paris and pretty tired after this and Göteborg.

The show is about 250,000m2 so it takes a lot of energy to find the good stuff amongst all the troll, pigs on bicycles, fluffy toys etc etc. have bought lots of exciting new things for the store so can not wait for them to arrive.

People are always asking us about trends and I would say this year mixing styles is back. There were lots of old leather chesterfield sofas, tables and cabinets that looked like they were made from the metal from old ships with rivets. Natural materials were also big as were re-cycled material. There were not like plastic pant flask but industrial waste products turned into wall coverings, kitchen benches, that sort of thing.

However coming to the airport was a nightmare, very hot, half the customs machines were closed and had to queue for 45 minutes. Everyone had to take thier shoes off, no seats and shoe horns to put shoes back on again which was difficult as I had been walking for 6 hours and feet would not go back into shoes.

Today T is in london and I have to go back to Göteborg again tomorrow for a meeting. All very busy at the moment.

Have just sent some images via bluetooth to my computer but now can not fin them. I think Pooter would be better at the technology than I am.

More Göteborg

If anyone does not believe me about the weather we have been having here is the proof.

I am actually rather proud of this photo as I took it with my phone and managed to get it to the computer. Just to prove to myself it was not a one off I sent this one to myself as well.

This is Anders, fredrik and Max and as you can see making television is a glamorous process. I have been standing in the middle of a forest all afternoon with a chain saw and am now very wet and bad tempered.

This will be a very late night……….will certainly be having a whiskey when back in the hotel room. P & P have also been running around like a couple of crazy things, at last they are asleep.

TTFN from a blött Göteborg

It never rains in Göteborg

Finished filming one show in Göteborg and straight onto the next.

It has rained and rained and rained. This weeks house is highly unusual, the first thing that happened here is we had a flood in the basement when a pipe burst. Sadly this sort of thing has to be expected but is still delays the filming horribly.

First thing that happened when we arrived is we bumped into 2 clients, who says sweden is not a small country. It will be nice though to get back to stockholm as we have filmed 2 shows in 6 days.

I have taken a few photos of Göteborg but need to blue tooth them to the computer from my phone. However as I am a dinosaur when it comes to phones, sms, microwave and every other appliance that uses electricity I need to find a small child to help.
