Always a problem with uglyness.
The only solution I can think of that is temporary will involve several cans of spray glue, not the permanent stick one but the one that allows you to move what is being stuck.
You could then uses pages from old paperbacks, stuck randomly, post it notes, pages from music scores, japanese etc etc.
I would suggest not sticking the whole blad down, only attach the op so you get a more 3 dimensionsal effect.
The solution is only as good as the material you put up.
The alternative is to move if the paper is simply that awful………and it sounds it.
