Aneby hus

Well off to Malmö tomorrow to meet and greet the press with the launch of the new Aneby hus , the interior having been designed by us. I have seen a few pics and it looks very nice. I have noticed that when people buy their first home the last thing they think about is the interior but it is so important to create a home for yourself not just an investment which I think is how we think about a roof over our heads these days.

I must confess to being a bit tired of getting on planes and trains, hailing taxis and packing suitcases.

It would be nice to learn how to pack lightly, perhaps 37 pairs of shoes for 24 hours is a little much.

That is it from the sharp end.

Insjön

Back from a fun day in Insjön promoting lightbulbs from Osram at Clas Olsson. Mets lots of people and sold hundreds of the new low energy lightbulbs. <They last for 10,000 hours and have the same colour as a egular lightbulb not that hideous blue light some bulbs have. For all of you that are interested in the environment I suggest you change over to them. I have and think they are great.

Builder Bob was also at CO, here is a picture of mee looking VERY embarassed. Inside the costume was a short very attractive woman!

I was not being artistic with this picture but I have no idea how to change it so you will have to turn the computer, sorry.

Whilst at CO I also had the experience of their fikarum. I swear it is the ugliest one in sweden. There was not one simgle this about it that was pleasing to the eyes. FURU EVERYWHERE, the most dreadful curtains, vile lighting. These poor boys look like they had just been dig out of the ground.

Mind you, one of the biggest fabriks I saw in Insjon was the one below. You probably can not see the sign on the building but it was Furumöbler, I know where they got the stuff above.

Also met the very nice Kevin Borg who made me feels as old as the unviverse. Had a drink with him on the train and he had a crowd of people around him wanting photographs, all of a sudden I felt totally like a C- kändis!!

As I am so useless to telephone technology I lost this picture of Carolina looking very lovely with Tomas during our week with her making the On Off film, no airbrush required.

That is it from here, I have a meeting with a client at Bukowski’s in an hour to look for furniture and art for a large project in the south of sweden. Good clients and friends, we also arranged their wedding years ago.

Insjön

Friday morning 0700 in the office.

Another week has gone by and as I mentioned before it has been very busy.

Many of you have been wondering about the inköpslista for the program being repeated right now on TV3. Sadly, I am not sure why they have not put up the list for the shows running right now. The best thing to do is perhaps get in touch with TV3 directly. You can find there contact details on the TV3 homepage.

I myself am off to Insjön this afternoon to take part in Insjödagen on Saturday. Wondering if I have packed all I need for Insjön……..extra ice ax, change of underwear, spare telephone, computer, GPS, torch………I will be at Clas Ohlson from 10:00 to 16:00, so if you happen to be in the area be sure to stop by and say hello.

Tomorrow is a big day for the boys, they go off to be trimmed, clipped and smartened up for the fall. Because I will be away next time I see them they should look like Jack Russels.

In other news T & I have decided to give Facebook a try. It really seems to be “the thing” and as I understand almost everyone seems to be there except us. I have no problem admitting I am still struggling with the video machine so anything to do with Facebook may as well be in Korean as it is a total mystery.

Spam - I thought was a kind of pressed lips and arse meat you put on sandwiches.

We thought it would be a good way of letting you know what is going on as well as sharing other stuff with you such as developments in Hollywood (lots) and new shows here in Sweden (yes - but something new).

You can find us here.

Have a great weekend.

Busy, busy, busy

It has been rather a busy week. T and I have been working on several big design projects which of course is rather fun but does take a lot of time. The weeks to come will also be hectic as well, including a lot of work in the office, meeting clients, mood boards, inspiration meetings, etc. There is also a bit of travelling coming up over the next two weeks.

On Saturday I will be visiting Clas Ohlson for Insjödagen. It will be my second visit to Insjön (I was there last autumn) and am really looking forward to it. Sadly cannot remember much from that trip as we were playing kub and the Swedes were cheating. It really is a beautiful part of the country though. If you are in the area be sure to stop by and say hello. You can find more information about Insjödagen on the following link:
http://www.insjodagen.se/

Next weekend T and I will be in Malmö visiting an Anebyhus project. We have been working with Anebyhus for some time now and having been putting the design together for their new visnings hus. More details on our visit to Skåne later. After all, we have to save some material for the blog.

Monday morning

What did I achieve over the weekend, actually very little and do I feel guilty…….yes.

Had a great dinner with friends out in Bromma, amazing temperature, certainly did not feel like sweden. Sunday was spent reading and nothing else, glorious but can not help but feel I should have been actually doing something.

Busy week ahead, we are doing a meet and greet at Nordic light hotel for Nestle today launching a new coffee maker and tomorrow we begin 3 days of filming with Carolina Gynning for On Off. Friday will of course be Systemet.

Now I have to go back to work as I have a deadline for a Härliga Hund article. This month about puppies.

Friday Q and A

Its Friday and time for another round of Q&A:

Caroline
There are several schools that offer courses in interior design, including Folkuniversitetet and Medborgarskolan. There are also many schools abroad, such as in the UK and USA. Just do a Google search.

Johnny
To be honest I really can’t remember, but I think it may have been a Mini.

Wolf
You can find more information on how we work at www.londonw8.se

Sara
I don’t think you need any tips - you described a very nice smink room. Just make sure you paint the room in a very glamorous colour.

Princess Leia
The project on Bequia is moving slowly right now as we have a lot of other things in the works. But soon….one thing I am quite certain of is that the process will be a nightmare and I need to be mentally prepared. Where will you stay when you are in Bequia, do you have a favourite place.

Rosita, Helena and the many others
Thank you for voting for us. Naturally I have a speech prepared thanking parents, director, fans etc etc

Karin
Thank you for you kind comments.

Malin
You should have come up and said hello. We are never too busy to say hi. If you would like an autograph just send us your name and address and we will be happy to send one: design@londonw8.se

Have a great weekend everyone.

Coffee and more

Rather a busy day today, had a press träff and föreläsning this morning launching a new coffee maker from Nestle at Formex, makes wonderful coffee and the design is so off the wall. The design is so cool it just makes me want to laugh out loud.

Full day at work and now waiting for a conferance call with LA to hopefully confirm the new show details. Then off for drinks with a friend from Norrköping and then on to dinner.

I am simply too old for all of this but it is rather fun.

I am still rather in the age when computers were big news.

Now it is time for a quick glass of wine before we enter negotiations for flying the boys to Hollywood…….first class.

kristallen

It is that time of year again for Kristallen and I think this year T & I will be away. It gets to be so hard to sit in the front row smiling having lost again!!

I am quite convinced though that the best man or woman will win.

Today T & I have been throwing a few ideas around for a book. We think there are so many  design shows but so few books as a tie in that actually help people with real problems, not how to lay a dining table for 40 per. A lot going on at the moment but always good to look ahead.

Formex starts tomorrow which is always interesting, will be out there in the morning making a presentation for a new coffee maker and having a general look about. Always a few leather corner units and chairs designer for hockey players that do things like hold beer and the TV remote. I particularly like the Vitrine Skåp section!

Where the hell is summer

Not quite sure what has happened to the sun.

Weekend BBQ was not cancelled because of a little bit of rain however broke the BBQ and the umbrella cooking, the chicken was completely burned and I looked like I had been drowned. Nothing that a few glasses of wine did not fix though.

Looking back over the summers photos here is a great one of Pooter eating seaweed. Looking out of the window it does seem a million years ago.

That is it from the sharp end.

Friday

Well, first week back at work and not at all sure what I have achieved. It has all been rather a struggle. Even the boys looked a little shocked by the whole thing.

Pooter has really taken it hard.

Was out at Ulvsunda slott yesterday for a meeting and the place has been turned into a hotel. Really great design, on the water, great gardens and a wonderful lunch. Was also at Hässelby Slott which needs a lot of help but in the library the most wonderful original tak.

Quiet weekend ahead, 10 for dinner tomorrow which is easy after 150 for brunch last weekend. T has even allowed me into the kitchen which is an honour, although I am certain I will get lots of tips and hints.

That is all from here, back to the grind stone.
