We use a good primer and quality paint on furu. Make sure you clean it thoroughly as well. Personally though I would not go to all the time and expense……..winter is coming and there is nothing nicer than a welcoming fire.

If you do not have to have a large wallet to create a beautiful home, it does not matter if you buy furniture and accessories at a budget store, an expensive design shop or second hand shop, as long as it reflects you and your personality. Have fun and be creative. However my absolute top tip is to start going to auctions…….that is where I shop.

I must confess technology is not my thing. The microwave broke down the other day and I only felt relief as it was one less thing to try and figure out. I have never actually used it so not too sure what the panic was.

The same reason applies for why there are not more pictures on the web. I would love to have more but it seems such a nightmare to do it. However, in the spirit of trying to beat this phobia here we go.

Here is T & I last year at the pride brunch enjoying ourselves with Barry Manilow playing in the back ground.

Tomas, having completed the food preparation leaves the kitchen to the staff (me) to clear up.

Thanks for your comment, I must confess to having laughed until I had tears in my eyes.

Sorry to have been so useless in replying to comments but I promise when I am back at work I will go through the blog and try and answer all the questions raised. Going back is going to be a little stressful however if the rain keeps coming it might not make much difference.

Mind you to look on the positive side, the whole of sweden needed the rain as it all looks so burnt by the sun.

That is it for now, friends coming to lunch so perhaps time for a bloody mary. Small tip, well fried bacon in the drink gives it a great taste……infact more like breakfast.

My god sweden is at it’s best now. Can not think why anyone would want to go to Gran Canaria at this time of year.

Lots of being on the water, mint jeulups, BBQ’s, every year I am amazed how sweden in january can look so wonderful in the summer. It is close to a miracle.

Today is a little gardening, lunch at Lisa på Torget (great people watching place), a spot of shopping then drinks at J Nacka. Not necessarily the most intellectual day but I keep telling myself thats OK………it’s summer!

Nu fick vi väl så vi teg med sommarvärme - men det är helt fantastiskt tycker jag även om nätterna är alldeles för varma.

Som sagt kom vi hem från NY i måndags och denna fantastiska stad gjorde mig inte besviken denna gång heller. vi bodde i en stadsdel vi inte bott i förut på lower east side nära east village och NOHO. Intressant, det byggs som bara attan, detta är en av de stadsdelar där de river en del för att det bara varit bilvärkstäder och parkeringsgarage e t c där rätt länge. det fantastiska är att allt det nya som byggs är ovanligt och riktigt bra. i stockholm när vi bygger nytt i gamla hamnområden eller på industritomter tenderar vi att alltid bygga nuttiga standardlägenheter med påtvingad arkitektur som många gånger försöker efterapa nån slags funkisidé. Varför kan inta folk få bygga lägenheter i gamla industrilokaler, eller varför bygger man inte områden (t e x i frihamnen) som faktiskt har en estetisk koppling till de byggnader som var där förut. Nä nytt och folhemspraktiskt ska det vara - tråååååååkigt.

T e x det hotellet vi bodde på var helt nytt i princip, men rummen hade NY loft fönster och hela hotellet var inrett att se ut som om det funnits där i över 100 år, lobbyn var sliten och möblerna lite nedsuttna, och de hade lyckats fantastiskt bra att bygga in massor med gammal härlig atmosfär. Tyvärr är vi i sverige lite för inställda på att allt måste vara och se nytt ut, vad är det för fel på lite slitage ????? Även om man inte vill ha gamla grejer så finns det massor med fantastiska reproduktioner om man vill skapa den känslan.

Det är många som skriver inlägg i bloggen och undrar vart de ska skicka sin ansökan om att vara med i vårt tv program, jag har alltid refererat till tv3, men det verkar inte finnas en castingadress så jag har nu kollat med strix som är vårt produktinsbolag och jag lovar att ni ska få rätt adress, annars sätter vi upp en mailadress själva som ni kan skicka det till. Vi vet som sagt inte när eller om vi kommer tillbaka i rutan men om/när det händer kan det vara bra att ha en massa “case” i bakfickan.

Ska nu dra in till vår vackra huvudstad och sätta mig på en uteservering och sippa ett glas rosé eller två.

Ha en fantastiskt trevlig kväll, och snälla grilla något annat än den där disktrasan de kallar flintastek USCH………
